The Job of a Journalist

Careers are beautiful.

From doctors to engineers, businessmen to salespeople, accountants to lawyers, athletes to musicians. The range is vast. But what do all of these people have in common?

They all strive to help people.

Although, for some odd reason, journalism captured my heart. Journalism also helps people in the world, but in a way that illuminates their minds, captures their attention, educates and influences them, and meets a level of understanding and empathy that has the power to connect one side of the world to another.

They also observe. Travel. Listen. Experience. Learn. Wander. Educate. Inform. Serve the people. Influence the minds of receptive, young individuals.

The job of a journalist may seem small on paper, but it is mighty in its power.
